I try to get him down for a nap after 1 1/2-2 hours, but maybe I just need to try a little earlier. Thanks for your advice. :D We will try it!Synchrosallyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05879895978702380073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6062594378961965263.post-16596683124611919922011-02-13T11:59:14.424-08:002011-02-13T11:59:14.424-08:00Hey Andrea :) I love your blog...I could give you ...Hey Andrea :) I love your blog...I could give you my two cents worth about sleeping if you like (continue reading then...)

C was a really bad sleeper. We were given some advice and completely changed his bedtime etc even though we thought it was completely crazy!
We put him down for a nap every 2 hours (starting a the 1.5 mark for story, milk and cuddle time) even if he didn't seem tired. And here's the insane thing...we put him to bed at 6pm (for a 6:30 lie down time). It worked! I can't remember if he got up still to BF in the night (I think he did once a night) but I BF'ed so long that it's all a blur.
The thing about the nap thing is that you can't do too much outside of the house for a little while. But C got down to 4 naps (about 45-1 hour) and quickly down to three, and then two for the longest time. Once he was down to two naps, the morning was about an hour and then the afternoon was about 2-3 hours. Now he's down to one nap for about 2-3 hours in the afternoon and his bedtime is 8pm.
We got our advice from a friend with twins and she got it from the book Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Baby. We took what we thought was best from us for the book but what's great is that it offers a bunch of different options.
Anyway, it's what worked for us and C! Who should be waking up any minute now.

The bonus side of a 6:30pm bedtime is that we got to spend much more time together as a couple and a lot got done in the evening...not so much with an almost two year old wanting to help with EVERYTHING :)Good luck and I feel your pain!Ginnyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15884531013441507382noreply@blogger.com
